It has been pointed out to me that the listing of dps on the weapons tray is no good if you are in sector space. I should have mentioned in the post that you need to be in a system or instance for the listing to be accurate.

Nice article Tis! I have some issues with it, as I am currently using something similar but with the Avenger BC instead, and instead of cannons using beams to take advantage of Fire at Will. It all started with the Active Boff selection, JR confirming an idea about using 3x Technicians' "Recharge Time on boffs abilities reduced when Aux2Bat Boff power is used. 10% reduction time for each of these Active Doffs... The trick works nicely, I can use FAW, Torpedo Spread, Attack Pattern Beta II, Polarize Hull and hazard Emitters continually on a cycle with little Cool Down time. I use these together with TT (not affected by Aux2Bat trick) and distribute shield power on a keyboard cycle which is engaged when ever I go to combat. My power levels on Weapons, Shields and Engines are at 125 all the time Aux2Bat or FAW are engaged, this last one thanks to the Plasmonic Leech. I started using Phaser energy Weapons first, because the DPS on the ship felt like a cheat... now I moved to Antiproton because JR proved I didn't had enough punch. With the Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core and the Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array I get an additional 10% AP damage... together with 4x AP MK XII purple consoles the thing kind of rule the sky. Of course I am considering the Dilitium Mine warp core MK XII when it is available, but I will cross that bridge when we upgrade the Dilitium Mine I also have the Tachyokinetic Converter but I am not sure it gives more than I loose for using it and not a different console. Jury is still out about it. What intrigues me is this type of setup on an escort, which is quite fragile in comparison: for the Plasmonic Leech to fully work with cannons you need to use Scatter Volley and hit more than a single target to gain the energy advantage. Aux2Bat should work really well to use a single Scatter Volley boff power, but I am not sure. The Omni-Directional Antiproton array and the Obelisk Warp Core might have something to say about it, but that is using Antiproton alone... and the trick works better with Polaron energy. I have a lot of doubts, but I think the idea is good... after all a good Sensor Scan III and Subnucleonic Beam III with max Aux power is usually how every enemy in PvP ends up beaten... problem is to actually use them when Auxiliary power is at it's max, and usually it is at 5 when using the Aux2Bat on a cycle he he. I am taking out my escort again to check this idea.

Well I tried the same setup I am using with the Avenger BC with the Fleet Defiant Escort (heavy cannons instead of beams) and the result is not as good.
The Plasmonic Leech and the three purple doff (Aux2Bat making a 10% reduction of boff's abilities per active doff) didn't work as well, well the three doff did, but the plasmonic leech requires constant hitting to enemy ships in order to get more energy for subsystems (weapons in this case): cannons can't do that even with Scatter Volley.
What seems to work well was the three doffs, plus having Photonic Officer ability in science sit as suggested by Juan Rico... this creates a world of difference: one should only need a single Cannon Rapid Fire and Cannon Scatter Volley, in theory, because those buffs should reduce cool down times almost as much as having two of those abilities.
I didn't try this yet, I was so frustrated with the less punch power and how to increase it... but it is a possibility, and I am not sure the Plasmonic Leech is any good in this scenario, but I admit the Jury is still delivering on the issue.
So IMO the best setup for any officer right now is to try the Leech with any cruiser, the more Tactical Consoles the better, and have pure Beam Arrays as weapons (perhaps a single beam bank and torpedo launcher in front) and use Beam Fire At Will on a cycle while tanking the opponent: this attack is so debilitating, and the more enemy ships are around you the worse for them. This is the field where the Plasmonic Leech works the best.
And by the way I have tried two and even three beam banks on front and the best results came from using the less amount: because beam array has 120 deg angle it can hit more ships more times than the reduced angle beam banks. Plasmonic Leech is all about this I think.
